When Northbound started in 2012 I primarily created medium to standard sizes.
As I have become more established I have moved away from the larger standard sizes, as lovely as they are, and have focused more on the medium range with some mini sizes for fun! I no longer focus on the standard size.
So what is the difference between them all?
Standard sizes have a lovely deep bark, but cost more to feed and groom!
Medium sizes are a great 'dog height' that works for tall and shorter people. A normal dog size (makes sense to me as I am writing this, and I hope you are all nodding in understanding).
Smaller sizes are cheaper to feed, c180-250g a day as a grown adult. You don't need to buy a new car to accommodate them, but they can have a higher pitched bark, thankfully the ALD is not a big barker!
What is identical between the three sizes?
They all need the same amount of TRAINING, EXERCISE, SLEEP and PLAY.
A mini can knock off 4hour walks just as easily as a standard size can.
A mini needs just as much training and boundaries as a standard size.
All sizes have the same coat type; non-shedding, fleece.
All sizes are intelligent.
The photo shown is of my mini, medium and small standard dogs, all on the same Scottish doggy walking holiday, and all on the same 4 hour walk.
The Australian Labradoodle sizes are:
Miniature Height: 14-17" / 35-43cm
Medium Height: 18-20" / 43-53cm
Standard Height: 21-24" / 53-63cm
